Words to Live By
I want to start this post with an amazing quote…
“Passion, action, and noble intention create progress.” ~ Tom Hardy
This is definitely a quote to ponder! Your passions are God given, you were given the ability to make choices (take action) and to be intentional. It’s the combination of following your passion, taking action from that place by living intentionally with a noble purpose, that bring about progress in your life! When it feels as if you’re moving forward, progress happens more easily.
Following your passions, passionately, creates a cycle of healing because you’re doing what you are meant to do in this lifetime. Doing what you love to do causes joy, happiness and fulfillment, which is all any of us really want. It’s not the money, the validation, the prestige or the power…it’s the feeling we think those things will bring that we’re after!
Because following your passion takes you to a place where you are happier and more fulfilled…it causes time to pass in the blink of an eye because you’re so focused on what you’re doing that you don’t even realize the time. Following your passions makes your problems suddenly seem less important or even irrelevant and because your passions are God given, they indicate your purpose. When you’re living your purpose, you feel gratitude and when you feel Gratitude, the Universe gives you more to be grateful for! Wow…that’s an amazing cycle and even more reason to follow your passion!
Passion - what do you love about yourself, about life? What do you enjoy doing? What books do you love to read? What do you like to eat or cook? Do you dream about travel…where? You are deserving of giving yourself time to discover your passions!
Action - You must start right where you are and take action from that place. Waiting until things seem right to take action will keep you stuck in the same place. How do you make time for your passions? Start small, read a book, discover a new cuisine you love, make art, learn a language, start exercising, take a class, make a new friend. Your life will begin to change when you discover and focus on what you love and then…you can begin to share that with others. When you begin to serve others with something that you’re passionate about, you’ll be surprised at how much better you’ll feel and also how much your life will change. Share your gifts and shine your beautiful light as only you can! Forget about what anyone else is doing and put your unique stamp on everything! You’ll begin to find your people, whether it’s through making friends, new business associates, social media or romantic relationships.
Everything is energetic and you are constantly drawing things to you and putting energy out into the world. Even if you only touch one or two people with your energetics or action, it creates a ripple effect and you never know how far it might reach. If you’re feeling unhappy, anxious, or depressed in your life, it’s probably a reflection of how you’re treating yourself and that becomes what you’re an energetic match for. It’s also what you’re putting out into the world as you move about your day, which only brings you more of the same. If you’re feeling joyful and walking around expecting good things to happen, you bring more of that to you and spread that into the world. Are you seeing a pattern here? The Universe moves in cycles.
Of course, you can’t have a perfect day every day, there will be times when things don’t go as planned, or something happens that makes you sad or angry. It’s important to honor your feelings and let them pass. This is part of taking care of yourself and there is always something to learn in the contrast that allows you to become more of who you are meant to be and live intentionally.
Intention in this case, is making a daily choice to be the best version of yourself and this can be different every day. Intention begins with discovering and loving who you are, nurturing yourself and living your life as if it matters more than anything. This alone, gives you purpose and a direction. When you love yourself, you know what your passions are, you can then act, based on those passions and the progress comes effortlessly.
I’ve been working on this post for several days, but today the words seemed to flow…probably because I really needed to hear them. I hope this post serves you in some way and helps you to get clear on your passion, action and noble intention!
I’ve included a couple of pictures that were taken on an unusually cold day last week! I pulled out a suede jacket that I’ve had for probably at least 30 years and paired it with a pair of boyfriend jeans, a short sleeve crewneck top and lug sole boots! I still love this jacket and wear it every year…it’s a jacket that will never go out of style, especially when paired with current pieces. I’ve linked several similar pieces below if you want to shop!
Don’t forget…I love your comments! Please leave one if you have any thoughts on this post! Have a great day!
