Closet Essentials for Fall
While I love to get dressed up to go out to dinner or for special occasions, for the most part my life calls for casual style so my wardrobe is mostly made up of casual pieces that mix and match. If Iβm going to be completely honest, I have way too many clothes and going into my closet stresses me out just a little. It seems that Iβm always trying to organize and weed out things that I donβt wear often. I think a capsule wardrobe would be amazing and Iβll keep striving to get there eventually. Iβve been doing a little research on the best way to go about paring down and organizing and Iβll share soon. When youβre a person who loves fashion as much as I do, feeling stress upon entering my closet isnβt such a good thing!
The outfits in this post are made up of wardrobe basics for fall (and beyond). Pieces that can be the foundation of many other looks. A denim jacket is a closet essential for anyone as well as a good pair of white jeans and booties. Booties look great with sleeveless and short sleeve tops in early fall and of course transition into fall and winter beautifully. In my opinion, they look best with a cropped pantβ¦jeans or otherwise. Keep scrolling to learn more about these outfits!
As I mentioned above, a denim jacket is a closet essential, and I also believe that every wardrobe should have a short sleeve and/or sleeveless mock neck to transition outfits into fall. Itβs still much too hot here to wear a long sleeve shirt under a denim jacket or any other jacket for that matter, but a short sleeve mock neck looks and feels great. This one from Loft is a great weight and has just enough stretch to make it flattering. I love the classic combination of white jeans, black top and. a denim jacket. I added light grey boots, but you could also wear a tan or black boot with this outfit.
Neutrals are always a safe bet and so elegant when styled together. I love how this off-white turtleneck sweater pairs with white jeans and tan booties. I added an amazing faux suede jacket (below) for a perfect fall look when the weather gets a little cooler. This jacket will honestly be my go-to until itβs freezing cold outside! The fabric feels amazing and it has a shacket look which is totally on trend right now. All of these pieces are so affordable and wearable!
Iβm sure Iβve said before that I love a distressed jeanβ¦not for every occasion, but I do think they add an element of interest to an outfit. These cropped, straight leg jeans from Loft have a raw edge hem and are high waisted. Iβve styled them with a plaid blouse and white v-neck tee. If youβre looking for an outfit with a definite weekend vibeβ¦this is. it! Think pumpkin patch, a picnic or antiquing. You could also tie this shirt at the waist for a different look.
Here Iβve styled the same white jeans with a v-neck tee and the cutest window pane plaid navy and white jacket. Navy and white always look so crisp and put together. The light grey boots blend seamlessly into the outfit. This jacket can be worn three seasons and would be amazing with wide leg jeans or wide leg white pants.
