The March List!
As spring arrives and brings warmer weather, nature really puts on a show! After the drabness of winter, I’m definitely ready for a spring refresh for both my wardrobe and my home decor. Shedding winter layers applies to our wardrobes as well as our homes…lighter fabrics, cheerful patterns and bright colors reflect what’s going on outside!
If you have classic pieces in your wardrobe, updating them seasonally is as easy as adding a new blouse, pair of shoes, a cute bag and jewelry. Of course, you may want to splurge on a few trendy pieces each season but be sure to put your money on the classic items that will. last from year to year!
It’s the same with the decor in your home…replace heavy fur blankets with lightweight ones and add new pillows that bring a drab space back to life! A scented candle and fresh flowers can make all the difference!
Just a few simple changes that don’t have to be expensive can lift your spirit and make everything feel light and new!
As I scroll the internet to link things for Crazy Blonde Life, it always happens that I find a few things that I really love! Some of these things are things I’ll order and some of them are a stretch, but hey…a girl can dream! You might as well put it all on the list because you just never know!
Spring is a time to refresh everything…I want to get outside more and do all the things that I don’t really enjoy when the weather is cold! Travel feels fun again because packing is so much easier when the weather is warm and I’m ready to tackle those outdoor projects that have been calling my name all winter long!
What I’m Doing This Spring
After I finish organizing the inside of the house…I’m doing a Marie Condo style sweep - I’m headed outdoors to dig around in the dirt…planting Lime Light Hydrangeas anywhere and everywhere and also looking into the Little Lime variety that doesn’t get quite as tall.
I also have a vintage 1950s Palm Beach table that needs to be powder coated and the fabric on the chair seats is worn out so I’ll be picking out new outdoor fabric for the chairs. I’ve also purchased a new outdoor bar cart that can be used on the front porch or on our back patio. I’ve been obsessed with this egg chair and I think I might just pull the trigger and get it! I can envision a good book and a lazy Sunday afternoon!
After living in construction for so long, I just want to be at home and enjoy what we’ve done!
However, Baldy and I are going on a Virgin Voyages cruise on April 20! It was supposed to happen in February but I put it off because it just didn’t feel like the right time. I’ll definitely be doing a little shopping for the cruise!
My birthday is May 4 and I’ll be 62…I don’t know how the hell that happened (excuse my French but there’s just no other way to say it!). Anyway, Baldy asked me if I wanted to go to New York but I just want to stay home, go out to dinner with my family, eat lemon pound cake, fill the house with peonies and rest! Doesn’t that sound nice?
Speaking of rest…not only will I be getting the closet and bedroom organized, I need to think about what’s going to be on and in my nightstand (I really meant the Marie Condo thing)! I don’t want clutter anywhere! So…my bookclub book for next month is The Women by Kristen Hannah and I just ordered it! I’m so excited to read this book and I think the conversation around it will be amazing! This book will have a place on the nightstand, with my readers and this bedside carafe. I also want to deal with the cord situation and love this wireless charging pad to charge all my devices at once while I’m sleeping. I’ll use this beautiful tray to keep any little knick knacks that end up needing a home. I’m also trying these whitening strips, this eye cream and this magnesium body butter along with the Goop lip balm for my dry lips…love products that work while I sleep! I’ve never really used a sleep mask, but it seems worth a try!
We have seasons in life and some seasons you want to go and do and some seasons you want to rest and be…I’m in a rest and be season right now!
What I’ll Be Wearing…
Just because I’m in a rest and be season doesn’t mean that I don’t want to look cute, so I have purchased a few things that I’m excited to wear! A few pieces for the cruise, and a few things that I just couldn’t resist!
Other than the cruise, and trips to Bald Head (home away from home), I’ll be staying fairly local for the most part, trying new restaurants that are close by, going to the Farmer’s Market (soon), having wine on the porch with friends, entertaining at home and just enjoying a slower pace! Here are a few things that I’ve purchased and can’t wait to wear!
This jacket from Veronica Beard is at the top of my favorites list!
I also ordered a few basic things from Mango, including this sweater that will be fabulous with white jeans and these snakeskin mules! This striped button-up will be perfect for a cooler day with this trench coat (also love this one) over!
I’m wearing these ecru jeans from Veronica Beard on repeat and I’ll be pairing them with this short sleeve top as soon as the weather is warm enough! And…speaking of classic pieces, I’ve just discovered the blouses from Sarah Alexandra…they are fabulous!
While I do love my affordable Amazon purchases, I splurge on a few things each season…my biggest splurge for spring was this dress from Johanna Ortiz…I’m so in love and it’s a keep forever piece!
I did also order this very affordable turquoise necklace that is arriving today! I think it’ll be great with lime green, white and so much more!
Found these cute summer accessories on Amazon!
That’s my March list…doing my best to enjoy each day as it comes, but really looking forward to the warmer weather that seems to be taking its good sweet time coming!
Packing up shortly and heading to Richmond to see my daughter…can’t believe it’s already Friday!
As always, I’m including a boutique with everything in this post (with the exception of the Amazon things)!
I hope you all have the best weekend! Thanks so much for reading today!
