Ideas for the Perfect Holiday Packages

Each year after our tree goes up, I begin to wrap gifts and as our family grows, it takes longer and longer. I usually select a few different wrapping papers…one or two for the children (this year I’ve added a couple of pink papers for the baby girls), a couple of papers that work for everyone and one or two specifically for the men. I do like for the papers to coordinate so everything will look pretty under the tree. As the stack of presents grows, they are just as much a part of the decor as the tree and they look so pretty!

There are endless ways to wrap a gift and it’s fun to make each one special. We have a tradition that one person hands out the gifts one at a time and we open them one at a time so it’s not a free for all and everyone can see what the gift is. The children sometimes get a little impatient, but I think it’s important to go slowly and appreciate each gift. As my grandsons have gotten older, they like to take the job of handing out the gifts and this way, they feel more a part of the process. This tradition makes it even more important to make each gift pretty.

In today’s post, I’m sharing a few ideas from Pinterest to inspire you as you wrap your holiday gifts.

This is such a great idea for children’s packages! The tinsel garland (also love this one with crystals) is so pretty when used on packages and I love it in combination with the yarn ribbon! I’ve also linked some tiny bottle brush trees that would be adorable!

Love this for children as well…the simple craft paper is so striking when paired with pretty ribbon and small mercury glass ornaments!

Simple and elegant…you can never go wrong with red velvet ribbon!

For the girl who loves Chinoiserie Chic…these colors are so much fun and prove that you don’t necessarily have to use red for holiday decorating…add a little pink instead!

If you’re a Cottage Core fan, these packages the cutest! Make your packages a work of art by making them your own!

More traditional and the theme that runs through these packages is red and more traditional paper and bows! Don’t forget to add a gift tag as you wrap!

Another idea for little girls, but my big girls would love this too! You don’t have to use Christmas papermix and match for more interest!

How you display your gifts is as important as how they’re wrapped! Stack a few artfully on a chair in your entry!

Have a roll of leopard wrapping paper on hand…it’s perfect for men’s gifts and it goes with most everything!

If you’re theme is more woodsy and natural, these gifts are beautifully wrapped and a wax seal adds a nice touch!

Love the color theme here as well as the natural touches with bells!

These beautifully wrapped packages are festive without looking “Christmasy”.

These cute packages make me want to have a kids themed tree! Gift bags or craft paper wrapped packages with twine, tinsel garland and tags!

These simply wrapped gifts are so easy and everyone loves a candy cane!

These stunning packages have a gift on the outside as well as on the inside! Etsy has a large selection of cameo brooches if this appeals to you!

Non traditional and stunning!

Find everything you need and more to recreate these fabulous packages below! Enlist the help of a grandchild or child to help wrap packages…make it tradition…put on something cozy, light a candle, put some cookies on a holiday plate, make some hot cocoa and turn up the Christmas music! After all, it’s all about making memories this holiday season!

I hope you’re inspired by this post! I would love to know your traditions around wrapping and opening presents so leave a comment below!
