Since at this point, the crisp fall weather hasn’t settled in and there aren’t many fall leaves yet, I decided to photograph these outfits at the beautiful Carolina Inn in Chapel Hill North Carolina. Packing for a weekend getaway is all about blending style and comfort. Start with pieces that can effortlessly transition from day to night like the black sweater dress pictured above. It would be so cute with sneakers or flats during the day and is fabulous with the boots for dinner! Accessorize with a statement necklace and a crossbody bag to keep your hands free as you shop or sightsee. Also be sure to include a turtleneck sweater and cozy scarf for cooler evenings. I am loving the metallic trend this season and I’m finding that a gold or silver leather jacket is a very versatile addition to my wardrobe! A gold leather jacket is a striking piece with a little unexpected edge and it can be dressed up or down easily! Paired with a simple white tee and jeans, it can transform everyday pieces into a chic look that’s perfect for casual events.
When layered with a turtleneck and combined with waxed black jeans and booties, the jacket adds just enough glam to be ideal for a dressier dinner out. And…I’m looking forward to wearing this jacket during the holiday season!

Accessorizing with a cozy wool scarf is a great way to elevate any outfit while and add a layer of warmth. I chose to wear my scarf long as a gorgeous statement piece but it could be styled any number of ways…tie it in a knot or wear it over your shoulders like a wrap! However you choose to wear it, it adds texture to your outfit and becomes a fashion statement. I love the Monterey High Rise Boot Cut Jeans from Boston Proper and the combination of a cream turtleneck, and my gold booties with the scarf was easy and chic! The scarf was the perfect finishing touch!
It’s probably safe to say that I’m obsessed with elegant this two piece set! It is so soft and so comfortable that I don’t want to take it off! It’s a very stylish way to lounge and if you’re going to lounge…you may as well be stylish! I paired it with my new Gucci platform slides and I think it’s the perfect look!
