Metallics for Spring 2025 + Puppy Update

If you’re wondering what to do with the metallic pieces you purchased in the fall…

Keep right on wearing them but give them a little update for spring! According to Harper’s Bazaar, “metallic is shining bright as the seasons boldest and most dazzling trend”!

As you know, it’s been a cold winter and I’ve tried my best to stay warm and cozy while still looking put together. The metallic Veronica Beard Pants I’m wearing here have been great for pairing with many sweaters, coats and boots! I wore these pants when Baldy and I were in New York and they really have been a great addition to my wardrobe! And because metallics are such a huge trend that I happen to love, I don’t want to stop wearing them as the weather gets warmer…so I’m looking for options for warmer weather.

As our renovation is almost finished and I’m anticipating putting my clothes back into my new closet (yikes I’m excited), I want to consider ways to have a more seasonless wardrobe. Because we do live in a climate with four seasons, I obviously will need some heavy coats and summer items, but there are pieces that can span the seasons.

For example, I have several gold jackets that will be fabulous with a simple tee shirt and jeans as the weather starts to get warmer and I wear my silver metallic pants all year long and mix up the tops.

This is an outfit I wore in the fall that would also be amazing for spring. I might switch out the heavier gold jacket for this one from Boston Proper (on major sale right now) that’s a little lighter!

These metallic boots would be great with be great with a lighter weight black dress or skinny jeans with a fun top going into spring and…did I mention that they’re also on sale!

The point here is…if you love metallics and have pieces from fall and winter hanging in your closet, take them right into spring and enjoy them!

And the puppy update…

Archie is doing great and had his first appointment at the vet yesterday! He has gained almost two pounds and this little cutie has become part of the family! He’s still having a little trouble with potty training, but we’re slowly working on it and I know it’s just part of having a puppy. I do spend a lot of time outside saying “Archie go poop”!

Amos seems to be happy to have a little brother and they chase each other around the backyard and curl up together for naps. One thing I will say is that I would not recommend getting a puppy in January if you’re someone who doesn’t like the cold weather, but that’s what we did! Thankfully, spring will be here soon and I look forward to walking both of them in the warm sunshine!

My outfit details…

I’m wearing bronze metallic pants from Veronica Beard paired with a white blouse from Brochu Walker, black suede booties, a cozy grey sweater from J. Crew, Julie Vos jewelry, a belt from Beth’s Buckles and a black bag.

I’m headed to Columbia to see my daughter Sarah and my grandson who turned 4 on the 23rd! Where does the time go? We’re going to his basketball game on Saturday morning and then to the Children’s Museum! When I asked him where he wanted to have dinner for his birthday, he said Sonic (haha) because he loves the tater tots! Needless to say, we’re going to the cute little Italian place instead! Maybe we’ll hit the drivethru for some tater tots!

I honestly can’t believe it’s the end of January…it went by so quickly!

I’m including a boutique below with everything from this post as well as a few favorite metallic pieces! Enjoy!

Do you love the metallic trend? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks so much for reading!
