Ten Ways to Refresh Your Home Without Spending a Dime

01

Even though it’s always fun to purchase things to refresh your home, you can make a huge difference in the way your home looks and feels just by doing a few simple things that don’t cost a dime! Here are a few ideas you can implement today to refresh your space! I’ve scoured Pinterest for pictures and I hope you enjoy this post!

Declutter and Organize – Clear out items you no longer need or use. Organizing clutter not only makes your space look cleaner but also creates a sense of calm. Usually, outside clutter is the sign of a cluttered head! It’s said that your space reflects your state of mind!

Rearrange Furniture – Experiment with different furniture layouts. Moving pieces around can give your home a fresh look and feel and make it feel new again! Going along with this idea, you can also pull out your good china…you know – those dishes you never use for some reason! Set a beautiful table, or just display your beautiful glassware in a different way! If you have it, you might as well use it!

Clean and Dust – A thorough cleaning can make a huge difference. Dust surfaces, vacuum carpets, and mop floors to refresh your space. Find products that smell good and that you love…it’ll change your whole cleaning experience!

Use Natural Light – Open blinds and curtains to let sunlight in. Clean windows for a brighter atmosphere, as natural light can make a home feel larger and more inviting…and sunshine is good for the soul! And…turn on lamps in the evening instead of using harsh overhead lighting!

Create a Gallery Wall – Use art, photographs, or even children’s drawings you already have to create a personalized gallery wall. Just rearranging existing pictures can create a fresh look.

Incorporate Plants – Bring in any indoor plants, flowers, or even cuttings from your garden to add a touch of nature to your home. Try to have a living element in every room!.

Repurpose Items – Get creative by repurposing household items. For example, a decorative bowl can hold keys, or a stack of coffee table books can become a side table.

Refresh Textiles – Rearrange or swap out pillow covers, blankets, or tablecloths you already own. These small touches can make a big impact. Also, do this seasonally using lighter fabrics when the weather is warm!

Add Personal Touches – Let your home be a reflection of your personality and life! Display sentimental items, artwork and coffee table books to make your home more interesting. Incorporating meaningful décor can make your space feel alive and comfortable.

Light a Candle – This may seem small, but just the simple act of lighting a candle shows that you care about living in a nice space! Find a few that you love and burn them often! No…this isn’t free, but it’s also not a significant expense and IMHO, very important!

And just in case you do need a few decor items for spring…I’ve got you covered!

When it comes to refreshing our home, I always like to go through and do a sweep…putting everything where it belongs, swapping out things seasonally and rearranging before I purchase anything! It feels so good to refresh your space, light a candle, pour a glass of wine (or whatever you drink) and then sit back and enjoy! With just a few small tweaks, your home can feel like a different place and we all need that sometimes! I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! PLEASE LET ME KNOW!

Have a great day!

~XOXO Suzanne

So many great ideas! Sometimes we just need to be reminded that we probably have many beautiful items in our homes that will look fresh and new just by moving them to a new spot or putting them with other things we love.
