Six Denim Trends for Spring 2025
Denim trends may come and go, but denim will never go out of style! If you’re a denim lover as I am, you probably have figured out by now what looks good on you and what you’re comfortable wearing as far as jeans. Having said that, it can be fun to try some of the new denim trends as they come along…you may be surprised at what you like. I really thought I hated the barrel leg trend, but I’ve found that a modified barrel leg can be a good look. I mostly tend to stick with classic styles, but there are so many well priced denim trends out there that if you want to experiment, you don’t have to break the bank! Below, I’m reviewing six denim trends (mostly classic) that will be trending into Spring 2025.
This light wash, high-rise, wide leg jean gives a definite 70s vibe and can easily be dressed up or down. I particularly love this style because I can wear a higher platform shoe…boot or sandal, and my legs look instantly longer. This pair has a medium amount of stretch and maintain their shape as you wear them! "If you’re looking for a similar but more budget friendly jean, these from Old Navy (they come in several washes) were rated #1 by In-Style!
For the curvy girl…these dark wash high rise, loose fit, cuffed jeans from Abercrombie, are just what you’re looking for! They’re nipped in at the waist and have ample room through the hips. Again, I always think that a more fitted top with a loose fit jean looks best…try tucking a fitted tee and wearing a cropped cardigan over.
Another favorite style for me is the flare jean. As with the barrel jeans, I would call this pair a slim palazzo (modified flare) because they’re not quite so fitted through the leg and the flare starts higher. These are great with heels but look amazing with loafers or sneakers as well. As the jeans get slimmer, the tops can have more volume. Try tucking in an oversized white blouse with this style for a classic spring look.
Skinny jeans are back and I’m not mad about it! The 2025 iteration isn’t skintight as in years past. The newer styles of skinny jeans are a little less fitted at the ankle, but still slim and flattering on nearly everyone! Try a traditional dark wash with a blazer for a look that will always be in style! I almost always buy cropped slim jeans because of my height. I like them to hit me at my ankle, or just slightly above.
I would call this fit a modified barrel which is my preference for this style. I think barrel leg jeans can be a fun style to wear but can definitely be overwhelming on a small person. In my opinion, with this style, it’s best to wear a more fitted cropped top. Two pairs below from Madewell are a modified barrel and well priced.
"This fit (barrel leg jeans) just started to take off in 2024, and we'll see the peak of its relevance in 2025. The fit is very flattering, and women are loving this as the fashion statement to their look." ~ Refinery 29
Possibly my favorite style of jeans…the true flare jean. These are fitted through the thigh with a flare at the bottom. Maybe not flattering on everyone, but definitely a good style for my body type and height. I love to wear a sky high stiletto or block heel platform for a leg lengthening look. And…I haven’t mentioned yet in this post that lower rise jeans (also love these straight leg ones) are also coming back and that’s another trend I’m not mad about. I have such a short torso and a lower rise works well on me…over the years, I have learned what works and what doesn’t, but as new trends come and go, I’m certainly willing to try them…if they work, great, I’ll dip my toe in with an inexpensive version…if not, I’ll pass!
The boutique below includes everything shown in this post!
I hope you’ve found this post helpful! I love my jeans and there are many more trends other than these out there! I’m not a fan of all of them, so I stuck to the ones that I will wear on a regular basis!
Thanks so much for reading today!
