Setting Intentions for 2022
Intention-setting is less about a specific goal and more about a shift in mindset to move in a specific direction. While resolutions are hard and fast goals that are either achieved or broken, intentions are broader ideas. I like the idea of a broader idea because the sky can be the limit and you just never know what may happen!
2022 started off with a bang and I feel that Iβm just settling into the year and my routine and Iβm finally putting some intentions out there! Iβve decided to choose a word and a phrase for the year.
Iβll start with the word and itβs FOCUS. Focus, defined as a noun means - the center of interest or activity; and described as a verb it means - to pay particular attention to. I want my attention to be focused on my activity so that I can accomplish more without being distracted by other things. I have so much going on in my life and itβs easy to get distracted with one thing or another, especially social media. Because social media is a huge part of what I doβ¦itβs always there and the rabbit hole is deep. Iβve started setting a timer for liking and commenting on other peoples posts so that I donβt get caught up watching random reels or looking at beautiful interiors and food!
With more focus, Iβll be able to do the things Iβve committed to do in my life and business more effectively which i turn will leave more time for play and relaxation. I love doing things to grow my business and it is so intertwined with my life that sometimes itβs hard to stop and just live. My mind is not often βoffβ because Iβm always learning and thinking of new ways to grow and offer more.
My phrase isβ¦ to live in honor of myself. This may sound odd, but Iβve put some thought into it and hereβs what Iβve come up withβ¦
Living in honor of myself means that Iβll speak from my heart - here on this blog and in my life. I will βbeβ exactly who I am. It means establishing boundaries and honoring those boundaries for myself and for those around me. It means following my passion which is my innate God given creativity. It means loving those around me as much and as well as I canβ¦listening with focus, showing up when I say I will and enjoying who they are.
Living in honor of myself means that I will walk forward in faithβ¦one step at a time, knowing that Iβm guided, loved and supported.
I am definitely on a Journey of Becoming more of the woman i AM and discovering and walking my path has become my passion. Iβm forever finding a new mentor or book because I love to learnβ¦AND - I still love fashion!
Being creative with fashion seems easier to me when the weather is warm, so the challenge is to come up with outfits that reflect my style and personality when the weather is cold. Having a collection of coats is a great place to start. I ordered this BB Dakota coat back in September and Iβve worn it often. It was really inexpensive and goes with so many outfits. My striped sweater is from Loft and again, itβs so versatile. Iβve paired these pieces with one of my new obsessionsβ¦clog boots from Veronica Beard.
Probably, 12 years ago, Tory Burch made a pair of clog boots that were very similar to these and I loved them so much that I wore them completely out. I still have them even though the sole is coming offβ¦I sometimes wear them when weβre sitting outside by the fire and I think the heat from the fire has melted the glue on the sole. ~ Thatβs my fashion story for the day. Scroll down to shop similar pieces and the exact bootsβ¦theyβre fur lined all the way to the toe and oh so warmβ¦and they come in black! I might see those in my future!
Iβve poured my heart and soul into my new program Journey of Becoming. Itβs a 21 day program that will help you start your journey to become more of the woman you areβ¦to discover your potential, let go of past stories that donβt serve you and live joyfully! Please join meβ¦youβll be so glad you did!
