Groundbreaking Fall Plaids

Let’s talk about plaids. The moment fall touches down, people begin looking for everything plaid and this fall season is no exception…it’s all about plaid and thankfully there is plenty of street style inspiration for how to style this classic print for 2020. I’ve seen it mixed with other plaids, with florals, you name it! Plaid for fall, like florals for spring, is not groundbreaking, it’s simply, a uniform that we have agreed to put our own spin on every year, in the name of coziness.

Today, once again, I’m excited to be teaming up with Barbie of Southern Blonde Chic! We’re both styling plaid pieces in our unique ways. I’m wearing a sweater in one of my favorite plaids…herringbone. Did you know that the pattern is called herringbone because it resembles the skeleton of a herring fish? Just a bit of trivia in case you’re interested.

Black and white are the classic colors for herringbone plaid designers have outdone themselves with plenty of color variations. This pattern will never go out of style because of its classic look and you’ll find it on everything from skirts and sweaters to shoes.

I’ve styled my cute herringbone sweater with leather pants by Frame Denim and Stuart Weitzman Over-the-knee flat boots. This is the 5th season wearing these boots and I still love them as much as the day I bought them. They are a bit of an investment, but when you consider price per wear, they’re a deal!

Barbie is styling a pair of plaid pants with a gorgeous fur trimmed cape (another fall 2020 trend) and the cutest Mary Jane pumps. She always looks chic in every outfit! For more of her fashion inspiration, be sure to head over to Southern Blonde Chic!
