My Favorite Outfits from Bald Head Island
Our trip to Bald Head Island looked a little different this summer than it has in summers past. The restaurants were open, but reservations were hard to come by so mostly we cooked at home or ate outdoors in a very casual atmosphere so, I didn’t have a need to dress up very much. I normally keep it casual anyway, but this year, it was ultra casual outfits for me!
This cute white dress from Amazon was one of my favorites for walking around in (believe it or not…it comes in 26 colors and prints!). White is always easy to accessorize and it was perfect to throw on and go. I lived in my hat from Eric Javats the whole trip…mostly to cover up my crazy hair, but it’s such a great hat. I got it wet, smushed it in the pool bag and pretty much abused it and it still looks like new. It’s a bit pricy, but well worth every penny. Tory Burch Miller sandals go with everything as does my straw bag (only $30), also from Amazon!
These two swimsuits from Cabana Life were my favorites for the days I wanted to be really active on the beach! They’re perfect because they keep my butt covered and they don’t ride up! I was able to play with Amos, jump the waves and take long walks while wearing these suits. My oversized Gucci sunglasses (similar here) are from last season, but between them and the hat, my face was covered from the sun!
Of course, I did a little shopping while on vacay and this lounge set from Z Supply was one of the pieces I bought. We had cool evenings and it was always too cool for me indoors, so I was happy to have this comfy set. It’s one I’ll wear all winter long. If I had ever purchased anything from Z Supply, I don’t remember, but I’m loving this brand now and have ordered several new pieces for fall. Everything washes well and is ultra comfortable and soft! Take a look at a few of my favorite pieces below!
Tie dye is trending big time right now and it couldn’t be more perfect for summer, but never fear, because it’s going strong for fall as well (I’m obsessing over this sweater from Veronica Beard)! I’ve rounded up some amazing tie dye dresses below!
This was our first beach trip with Amos and he absolutely loved the beach! He was a little timid with the water at first, but by the time we left, he was going right in! We went on walks every morning and enjoyed a slower pace!
Anthropologie, as I’m sure you know, has the best loungewear. I found these pj pants there earlier in the season, and sadly, they’re sold out, but there are always new ones coming in. See below for a few pairs that you’ll want to add to your collection!
This year, for the first time every (if you can believe it), we had family pictures made on the beach! We’re very rarely all together, and this year, I was determined to make it work. We ended up having a great time with Sara-Anne Caudle, our photographer and she got some great shots! I can’t wait to get a huge one to hang on the wall. I know every time I look at the pictures, I will remember this moment in time!
I chose a tie dye dress from Young, Fabulous and Broke (also love this one) for pictures. Everyone was casual and the girls and I chose different dresses to wear. I originally told them to wear white, but I just couldn’t find anything I really loved and I think having this little bit of color was nice in the photos.
Cabana Life not only makes the best swimsuits, they make great resort style dresses! I love the fun prints and colors and always get compliments when I wear these dresses!
The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (which ends tomorrow), tempted me in so many ways! I ordered this sweater from Free People and I’m so glad I did because it’s now sold out everywhere! I’ve linked a few that are similar below. I also tried a new brand called Agolde…I’ve been seeing it all over Instagram and decided to try these shorts. They’re a little high waisted with a button fly and I’ve been living in them!
This dress from Chickwish turned out to be my very favorite of anything I packed. It’s feminine and the print is fun, plus it fit me perfectly. It’s the ultimate beach dress…just add a hat!
Another brand that I’ve recently discovered is Farm Rio. All of their prints are bright and colorful and so much fun! I’m looking for a dress to wear to my Nephew’s wedding in October at Hilton Head and I’m sure that I’ll chose one from Farm Rio! I’m positive that you’ll love this brand as much as I do…there is something for everyone!
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and found a few things to shop for! Here is a boutique of everything in this post plus a few extras…just in case you need a closer look!
