Casual Chic Travel Outfits

My travel seems to come in clumps…it’s never spaced out very well, but I figure it’s better to go and rest later than not go! This coming weekend, I’m going to Richmond VA where my daughter Rebecca and her husband have just moved. It’s going to be a quick trip to celebrate her birthday so we’ll be doing some shopping, exploring and having a fun birthday dinner.

Week after next is the big trip to Germany to visit my youngest daughter, Sarah! Last time I went to visit was right in the middle of the pandemic and everything was shut down. I stayed for 2 weeks and had to quarantine for 10 days of that 2 weeks, which didn’t leave time for much of anything! I did get to meet my new grandson, Bristol and spend time with him so even though we didn’t do much, it was so worth going.

This trip will be much different! We are starting by traveling to Munich for Octoberfest and then going to Paris (I’m sure I’ve already mentioned that because I’m beyond excited). I also mentioned that packing was going to be much easier because of my capsule wardrobe and I’ve been coming up with even more outfit ideas by adding a few more pieces I already own to the capsule, which you should do as well if you’re following my formula.

I do not like to look like a tourist when I travel (except for the camera around my neck), so I’m putting together outfits that will be comfortable, chic and understated. I do plan to do some shopping while I’m there because…why not?

Good quality basics always look chic and the outfit below will be perfect for a day in Paris. We have arranged a gourmet walking tour for one morning and I love this look for walking around Montmartre with Bristol in his stroller. We’ll be sampling cheeses, pastries, breads and wine at local shops. We also plan to visit a market one morning and buy delicious goodies for a picnic to have in a nearby park. I want to make sure Bristol has time to run around and enjoy Paris just as much as we do! Every trip is different and this one will be low key and relaxed because we don’t need a cranky two year old!

This outfit is made up of pieces that most everyone already has in their closet in some form or fashion! If you are looking to update anything, in my opinion, a new pair of straight leg jeans and lug sole boots would be on the list.

I originally created the above outfit as a travel look which I still think would be great, but I would also switch out the joggers for black jeans or leather pants for a chic daytime outfit. Right now, the temperatures in Paris are in the low 60’s during the day, so I’ll definitely need a sweater. I love the Chloe tote bag for carrying my necessities including my camera and sneakers are a must for comfort.

Spanx leggings are the most comfortable for travel along with a large tote bag and sneakers. The luggage is from Amazon and I’ve already purchased it for the trip. It seems very sturdy and hopefully the color will stand out in baggage claim. A simple white long sleeve tee underneath the jacket will keep me comfortable for the long flight. I’m planning to share more of what and how I’ll be packing for the trip next week!

Be sure to click on the Amazon Shop in the tool bar at the top of the blog because I’m adding new fall items to this page every day and soon I’ll be adding all my favorites for the holidays! I’m also adding to the Shop My Favorites boutique soon so be sure to check that out as well!

Today, in anticipation of my article in Victoria Magazine that comes out in January, I’ll be filming a video about afternoon tea…manners, food and styling! I’m really looking forward to it and can’t wait to share! I hope you have a fabulous Tuesday.
