It's Time to Deck the Halls With Garden Valley Market
βNo matter your age, the holidays offer the chance to see the world like a child again, with eyes of expectant wonder.β
That experience of wonder during the holidays starts within our homes when we decorate for the season. Whether you go all out or keep it simple, a freshly cut Christmas tree makes all the difference. It scents your home with a fragrance that will bring back memories each year.
A Christmas tree is the perfect backdrop for making special family memories and it all starts with taking your family to choose the perfect Christmas tree. Garden Valley Market in Burlington NC is so magical during the Christmas season with mazes of Fraser Fir trees, wreaths, greenery and even bows to deck your halls.
My husband, Baldy (aka Pops) and I took our grandson Hudson to Garden Valley Market in Burlington yesterday to pick out a Christmas tree and I believe we started a new family tradition. When his brother Graham gets a little older, weβll take him with us as well. The sun was starting to set just a little and the tree lot was lit all around with lights that made the evening just magical. The trees, to a 4 year old, Iβm sure seemed huge and we wandered around drinking warm apple cider, looking at trees and trying to find the resident dog that was avoiding a very lively child.
There were trees of every heightβ¦including one that was just perfect for Hudson. We helped him put a bow on the very tippy top of the tree. He loved that, but what he really loved was the tree that was decorated with candy canesβ¦he calls them candy cans. He chose one for each hand. After he had eaten most of the first one, he handed it to me to finish so he could start on another. We may have been a little sticky when we left.
My favorite part, other than spending time with Hudson and Pops was drinking warm apple cider as we walked around looking at the trees.
Garden Valley has wreaths of every size, and pine and Fraser Fir roping to grace your doorways and mantles. You can also pick up jars of jams, jellies, pickles and chow chow which make thoughtful gifts and are great to have on hand for the holidays. And if you forgot your tree stand or need a new oneβ¦ theyβve got you covered!
Whatever size tree you need, youβll find it at Garden Valley Marketβ¦if you get this one, youβll definitely need a ladder to put on the lights!
I think that supporting local business when you can is so important. Supporting local means supporting your local economy. It's choosing to allow your funds to stay in the community you live in. When you purchase a Christmas tree or greenery from a local market, youβre supporting local farmers and growers in North Carolina and your community.
Iβve been a customer of Garden Valley Market since the beginning and Iβve watched them grow over the years from a small produce stand to a large garden shop. The market season starts with spring plants, followed by tomatoes and local produce in the summer, pumpkins of every size, shape and color in the fall and lastly, Christmas trees for the holidays. Over the years, Iβve gotten to know the family that owns Garden Valley and it really feels good to support friends and neighbors.
I wanted to wait until after Thanksgiving to get our tree, so we didnβt bring it home with us, but you can believe, that on Fridayβ¦Iβll be back getting greenery, wreaths and our tree so that weβll be ready for Christmas!
Garden Valley has 5 locations...South Burlington, West Burlington, Haw River, Graham and Greensboro, so if you live close by, stop in see what they have and donβt forget to tell them that the Crazy Blonde sent you!
I have such wonderful memories of our Christmas trees over the years. Christmas is a magical time for children and adults and I canβt imagine Christmas morning without the scent of a live Christmas tree twinkling with lights!
