What to Wear to New York at Christmas Time

Do you ever type What to Wear…? in the search bar on your computer when you’re trying to pack for a trip and then get discouraged because nothing that pops up was really what you had in mind to pack? Well…I’ve got you covered today!

I’m sitting in my more than cozy bed in New York at the St. Regis Hotel as I type this and sad that we’re leaving New York tonight but it’s been such a fun trip! I’ve seen every kind of outfit…some were really fabulous and some made me scratch my head but the best outfits are always the ones that are practical, stylish and fit the activity.

If you’re sightseeing and walking a lot, you need comfortable shoes and a warm coat. If you’re going to lunch at Bergdorf Goodman and shopping in the store for the afternoon, you need something a little dressier and you definitely want to dress up a little for dinner! It’s also not a bad idea to have an outfit for morning coffee runs just in case you have a craving for Starbucks!

The looks below are mostly casual with the exception of the last look and the pieces can be mixed and matched! I hope you find it helpful for your next trip, or just for at-home outfit inspiration!

I’m so in love with this cozy knit set…it’s great with a long coat and Tory Burch sneakers. The leopard bag adds a little interest and it’s priced well! I’m not much of a hat girl, but if I were, I would definitely want all the Anine Bing baseball caps…especially for a rainy day! I saw so many well dressed women wearing these on the streets and looking fabulous!

I do love a coffee run some mornings, even if we have coffee in the hotel. I never really go out for coffee at home and for some reason, I want to when I’m traveling! Anine Bing makes the coziest and best quality sweatshirts and they’re perfect for a casual morning in the city! I’m also really obsessed with the Tory Burch shearling lined clogs (hint hint to my family) (and these UGGS are cute as well)! The black jeans will mix with everything in your bag and they’re definitely a necessity for a trip to New York…

The black jeans are worn again here with a fabulous crewneck sweater, a cozy hat, suede chelsea boots and a great little quilted jacket along with a versatile suede bag.

I have walked all over New York in these cute black booties and they are so comfortable and perfect with a flare jean. You know I love my Tory Burch Lee Radzwill bags and the black one is so versatile and also has a crossbody strap. A great shearling lined jacket keeps you warm and cozy over a striped sweater and don’t forget to pack a seasonal fragrance!

Stay warm in the evening with a fun leopard coat over a black sweater dress and complete the look with tall boots that are great for walking and a gold bag to dress it all up!

And I’m including an Amazon look for less below! I think this look is so cute and perfect for a holiday party or dinner! You can shop more by visiting my Amazon Shop where I’ve linked literally hundreds of things…and while you’re there I would love for you to give me a follow!

Obviously, you wouldn’t pack several thick coats and five pairs of shoes, but the point here is to give out outfit ideas that will inspire you to pack from things you already own and maybe add a few new pieces. The most important thing to remember is to leave a little room in your bag for the flight home!

Below, you’ll find a boutique with everything except for the Amazon items…plus a few extra goodies!

As always, thanks so much for reading today!

~XOXO Suzanne
