Design Matters

Design plays a crucial role in creating spaces that resonate with our personalities and enhance our daily lives, making our homes sanctuaries of joy and comfort.

Thoughtfully designed interiors not only foster well-being but also reflect our unique tastes and lifestyles. Similarly, the clothing we wear expresses our individuality and influences how we feel and interact with the world.

Just as a harmonious home can uplift our spirits, a well-chosen outfit can boost our confidence, making both design elements essential for cultivating a joyful and fulfilling life.

My outfit and the room in the background are reflections of my taste and personality! The memories made with family and friends in our home give it life and meaning. And…it wouldn’t be the same without my beautiful pup!

As you all probably know by now, we are doing a bathroom/closet/bedroom renovation and it’s been going on since August. It really is dragging out, but starting to take shape and looking beautiful. It’s been really difficult to stay organized during this time because everything I own is scattered throughout the house and often, I can’t find what I’m looking for. I didn’t anticipate how discombobulated I would feel throughout this time! As we’ve been in chaos on the upper floors of our home, I’ve done my best to keep the main floor a peaceful place that shows no signs of what’s going on upstairs…

I am on my hands and knees daily, cleaning the floors and I should buy Swiffer stock because that’s also a daily activity! Having a space downstairs that is beautiful and clean has kept me sane…especially throughout the holidays. It did take quite a few days to restore order after the girls left, but we made the best memories.

I have shared small snippets of our home on Crazy Blonde Life over the years, but as it continues to evolve this year, I plan to share more and more of what I’m doing and how we’re living! I am a collector of books and love beautiful objects…a minimalist by no means! The more the better…

I love it when there are so many interesting things in a room that my eye doesn’t know where to land!

I am less of a maximallist when it comes to my clothing choices, however, I do like to add an unexpected element to my outfits at times. These fabulous tights from Wolford are that unexpected element in this look. The dress is a classic and beautiful cashmere dress from Anine Bing. It is extremely soft and the perfect length for me. The shoulder pads give it a beautiful silhouette and the buttons in front add just a bit more style. I’ve styled it here with my Golden Goose cowboy boots (my most worn shoe lately) but the dress works well with many other shoe choices making it very versatile. It’s definitely one I’ll keep in my closet forever.

The older we get, the more interesting we become! Life experiences give us wisdom and so many stories to tell. Our homes should be ever changing to reflect who we continue to become…the story of our lives!

A few things I love…

I’d love to know your thoughts on this post…leave a comment and let me know!
