Day In the Life - March Madness

March was one of the most hectic months of my life and I will admit that it was a rough one! It felt as if strange men had taken over my house and they brought dust, noise and dirty feet! There were days when I just didn’t handle things very well and I had to stop and regroup often just to keep my sanity.

As we’ve gone through this process, I’ve realized how important order is to me. I’m not a person who could ever live out of a suitcase…my personality needs consistency and routine. I just haven’t felt like myself for quite a while. I haven’t been working out consistently and the dogs are wondering when we’re going for a walk. I’ve been so busy everyday that I haven’t been eating well either!

I realized yesterday that I’m feeling so ready to write again and I’ve been ready to get in my kitchen and cook again. Last night, I did try out a new Ginger Miso Chicken that I’m planning to post on Thursday…Baldy was so happy to have a proper dinner!

One thing I do know is that when we finally get this done, I will have purged out every single thing that I no longer want or need and everything will have a place! That’s going to feel so good!

Luckily, we’re almost finished…I know I’ve been saying that for so long, but I guess there are always unexpected things that come up and loose ends to be tied.

I ordered beautiful glass front carved doors for the cabinet in the middle of my closet that came in last week and the painters are here now painting those. Also, there was a mix up with the cabinet pulls for Baldy’s closet and we’re waiting on the rest of those to come in and…I changed my mind about the pulls for the bathroom doors and drawers so those are on order.

I’m waiting on the electrician to finish hanging light fixtures (I got them all from Visual Comfort through my designer) and hang the towel warmers. I also ordered electric mirrors (mine has a television so I can watch morning TV) and we’re waiting on those to come in as well. I’m using one of the rugs that was previously in our bedroom and have ordered another from Dash & Albert for the sitting area. Also, on the hunt for a rug for the bathroom as well as fabulous mirrors and art.

The movers are coming this week to put the furniture back in the bedroom and our bed should be here as well. I don’t think I really realized the scope of this project but it’s going to be amazing when it’s done!

And on a completely different note β€”

I think I mentioned that I’m trying some new skincare products from Oliveda and I’m loving them! They are clean beauty products and my skin is responding and not feeling as dry as usual! I’m planning to try a few more of their products and will do a round up of them all and let you know ASAP!

The skin on my body is getting so crepey, so I ordered this OS-01 Body Topical Supplement from OneSkin. I’m already using their body lotion and I’ve heard really good things about the topiccal body supplement. I don’t mind getting older, but I don’t want to have crepey skin! Again…I’ll let you know.

I’ve yet to mention anything about the pictures in this post…so, this look is somewhat of a uniform for me. I’m wearing a Citizens of Humanity blouse that is just fabulous…they make a version of it every year and I always try to get one! The sleeves are looser fitting and have a button that makes it appear that the sleeves are pushed up, giving it an effortlessly casual look. The jeans are from Mother Denim and I buy the same pair every year because they’re just perfect for me. Same for the Marc Fisher sandals…they are so affordable and comfortable. My bracelets are from Tamera Beardsley as is my long peace sign necklace. The bag was a gift from Baldy for my birthday several years ago! The Tory Burch one linked is very similar.

As some of you know, I had a melanoma removed from my back on Thursday of last week. It was a simple procedure that took about 30 minutes, but I have a 4 inch incision on my shoulder. I’m so glad they caught it before it spread very far, but the scar isn’t going to be pretty. I had been putting off going to the dermatologist because I was too β€œbusy”, and actually started to postpone the appointment for my body check. I’m so glad I didn’t because that’s when they found the mole that was causing the trouble. I’m mentioning this because it’s so important to go to the dermatologist at least yearly to have a full body scan! Now, I have to go every three months and you can believe I won’t be missing those appointments!

I’ve ordered a few things that I’m excited about and a few that are necessities…

Had to restock the coat hangers and also found some great hangers for pants and skirts. I mentioned yesterday that I had ordered the leopard pants and love them (the fit is amazing) as well as the Rebecca Gardner book (be sure to follow her on Instagram) that I’m so excited about! I love the square sunglasses and can’t wait to taste these fabulous potato chips (I’ve developed a potato chip obsession lately)!
