Day In the Life - March Madness
March was one of the most hectic months of my life and I will admit that it was a rough one! It felt as if strange men had taken over my house and they brought dust, noise and dirty feet! There were days when I just didnβt handle things very well and I had to stop and regroup often just to keep my sanity.
As weβve gone through this process, Iβve realized how important order is to me. Iβm not a person who could ever live out of a suitcaseβ¦my personality needs consistency and routine. I just havenβt felt like myself for quite a while. I havenβt been working out consistently and the dogs are wondering when weβre going for a walk. Iβve been so busy everyday that I havenβt been eating well either!
I realized yesterday that Iβm feeling so ready to write again and Iβve been ready to get in my kitchen and cook again. Last night, I did try out a new Ginger Miso Chicken that Iβm planning to post on Thursdayβ¦Baldy was so happy to have a proper dinner!
One thing I do know is that when we finally get this done, I will have purged out every single thing that I no longer want or need and everything will have a place! Thatβs going to feel so good!
Luckily, weβre almost finishedβ¦I know Iβve been saying that for so long, but I guess there are always unexpected things that come up and loose ends to be tied.
I ordered beautiful glass front carved doors for the cabinet in the middle of my closet that came in last week and the painters are here now painting those. Also, there was a mix up with the cabinet pulls for Baldyβs closet and weβre waiting on the rest of those to come in andβ¦I changed my mind about the pulls for the bathroom doors and drawers so those are on order.
Iβm waiting on the electrician to finish hanging light fixtures (I got them all from Visual Comfort through my designer) and hang the towel warmers. I also ordered electric mirrors (mine has a television so I can watch morning TV) and weβre waiting on those to come in as well. Iβm using one of the rugs that was previously in our bedroom and have ordered another from Dash & Albert for the sitting area. Also, on the hunt for a rug for the bathroom as well as fabulous mirrors and art.
The movers are coming this week to put the furniture back in the bedroom and our bed should be here as well. I donβt think I really realized the scope of this project but itβs going to be amazing when itβs done!
And on a completely different note β
I think I mentioned that Iβm trying some new skincare products from Oliveda and Iβm loving them! They are clean beauty products and my skin is responding and not feeling as dry as usual! Iβm planning to try a few more of their products and will do a round up of them all and let you know ASAP!
The skin on my body is getting so crepey, so I ordered this OS-01 Body Topical Supplement from OneSkin. Iβm already using their body lotion and Iβve heard really good things about the topiccal body supplement. I donβt mind getting older, but I donβt want to have crepey skin! Againβ¦Iβll let you know.
Iβve yet to mention anything about the pictures in this postβ¦so, this look is somewhat of a uniform for me. Iβm wearing a Citizens of Humanity blouse that is just fabulousβ¦they make a version of it every year and I always try to get one! The sleeves are looser fitting and have a button that makes it appear that the sleeves are pushed up, giving it an effortlessly casual look. The jeans are from Mother Denim and I buy the same pair every year because theyβre just perfect for me. Same for the Marc Fisher sandalsβ¦they are so affordable and comfortable. My bracelets are from Tamera Beardsley as is my long peace sign necklace. The bag was a gift from Baldy for my birthday several years ago! The Tory Burch one linked is very similar.
As some of you know, I had a melanoma removed from my back on Thursday of last week. It was a simple procedure that took about 30 minutes, but I have a 4 inch incision on my shoulder. Iβm so glad they caught it before it spread very far, but the scar isnβt going to be pretty. I had been putting off going to the dermatologist because I was too βbusyβ, and actually started to postpone the appointment for my body check. Iβm so glad I didnβt because thatβs when they found the mole that was causing the trouble. Iβm mentioning this because itβs so important to go to the dermatologist at least yearly to have a full body scan! Now, I have to go every three months and you can believe I wonβt be missing those appointments!
Iβve ordered a few things that Iβm excited about and a few that are necessitiesβ¦
Had to restock the coat hangers and also found some great hangers for pants and skirts. I mentioned yesterday that I had ordered the leopard pants and love them (the fit is amazing) as well as the Rebecca Gardner book (be sure to follow her on Instagram) that Iβm so excited about! I love the square sunglasses and canβt wait to taste these fabulous potato chips (Iβve developed a potato chip obsession lately)!
Off to a hair appointmentβ¦going to get one row of extensions and Iβm so excited! Iβll be adding to my Amazon Storefront throughout the day so be sure to check back!
