How to Commit to Making Positive Changes In Your Life
IF YOU WANT TO BE HAPPY, SET A GOAL THAT COMMANDS YOUR THOUGHTS, LIBERATES YOUR ENERGY AND INSPIRES YOUR HOPES ~ Andrew Carnegie
Since I recovered from my appendectomy and my month of feeling sick, I have been trying living more purposefully. I realized a few things while I was lying in bed and I am learning more every day. Living purposefully means making changes that will improve your life. Change isn’t easy, our habits are ingrained in us… easy would be to do the same things day in and day out. But doing what’s easy will never get you anywhere.
Doing the thing that scares you, the thing that’s hard, learning something new, changing a bad habit…those are the things that will put you on a different path, the path that will allow you to live the life that you dream of living.
I catch myself sometimes feeling mad and frustrated with my circumstances, but the truth is, I’m the only one who can change the circumstances. So, I’m really not mad and frustrated with the circumstances, I’m mad and frustrated with myself for doing the easy thing. Easy isn’t that much fun after all, and it’s definitely not exciting.
In order to change, you must make a purposeful commitment. If you’re truly committed to something, you will make whatever changes to yourself, your circumstances, and your life to make that commitment happen!
You can’t make excuses...
Start today to behave differently and you can change the circumstances around you, then make it a point to recommit every single morning.
“Write your goals down, if they’re not written down, they’re just dreams. When you write things down, it sets off a chain of events that will change your life.”
Don’t settle for a mediocre life. What happens to you on the outside is a direct reflection of what’s going on on the inside. Consciously decide to reshape your outer circumstances and you’ll shift internally. That’s when you’ll see your dreams come true!
Think about it this way…
You can do nothing, change nothing, make excuses for why things are so bad, continue with the same habits you’ve always had. Your life stay the same if you don’t make a purposeful commitment. Decide what you want. Do you want to make more money? Do you want to improve your relationships with your family, lose 5 pounds, grow your blog (that’s me), or start one? How long have you been talking about these things? Doing nothing will get you nowhere. Start making changes today (small ones add up) and stop making excuses.
Thanks so much for reading today! I hope this serves you in some way!
