A Spooky Charcuterie Board for Halloween

You all know I love a good charcuterie board! Halloween is upon us and why not make a themed board for the occasion? We’re having family over for trick-or-treating and this will be an easy way to have something tasty to eat without going to too much trouble…and I think my grandsons will like it, especially the candy corn!

Instagram provides so much inspiration for most everything, but especially food. I got the idea for crafting a skull out of goat cheese from an Instagram post, and I’ll tell you…it’s not as easy as it looks! My first one was a huge flop…too flat and not shaped quite right. My second try (seen here) is better, but I could perfect it if I tried again. I was happy with this one and even though it’s not perfect, it’s fun and delicious! I used strawberry jam for the eyes and fig jam for the nose and the goat cheese has herbs.

The little brie pumpkin was made with a cookie cutter and adds another element of Halloween and fun! I tried to keep this board somewhat dark by using blueberries and blackberries, almonds and darker cheeses. I couldn’t resist the candy corn though and the other sweet is miniature Butterfinger bars. After all, it’s not Halloween without candy!

Here are all the ingredients I used for this board

Cubed semi hard cheese, slices of Havarti cheese with red pepper, brie, herbed goat cheese (for the skeleton), assorted meats (from a package at the grocery store), blueberries, concord grapes, blackberries, wasabi almonds, assorted crackers, sesame sticks, piquillo peppers, thyme, miniature butterfinger bars, candy corn.

Of course, these are just my suggestions! Make this board your own and have fun with it!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this post! I would love to see pictures of your Halloween cheese boards! If you make one, post a picture on Instagram and tag me! Thank you for reading!
