Two Spring Outfit Ideas for a Cool Day...

This week started off with something really exciting…we’re getting a new puppy! We’ve been thinking for a while that Amos needs a companion! He’s such a social dog and as things begin to open up, we’ll be gone more…so a puppy seemed like just the thing. It’s a long story, but this little pup who we’re going to call Dash was meant to be ours. He’s only 5 weeks old right now so we’ll get him when I get back from Germany the first week of May! Amos is going to be so happy and we will have some work ahead of us but it’s going to be so much fun! I never pictured myself as a dog person, but I’m all in and so happy about it! I can’t wait to share pictures of this cute pup!

We’re only a couple of days into spring and in most places it’s not quite time to pack away all our winter clothes. I’ve put away winter pieces that I’m sure I won’t wear again, but I definitely still have a stack of sweaters for a cool day. I think we’re all very excited for the new spring season for many reasons…

Hopefully, we’ll be able to get out more, travel more and get dressed up. Spring is the season I tend to rush more than any other, meaning - I start to wear spring clothes when the weather is still cool. Even though I’m not ready to bare my arms and throw on a pair of shorts, I’ve found that if I have on a sweater and jeans I can wear a pair of espadrilles or sandals and feel completely appropriate..

Shoes have been my biggest fashion accessory obsession for as long as I can remember, and while I do love my booties…when spring comes around, I want to break out my sandals, get a pedicure and wear a pair of espadrilles. They are the perfect shoe with cropped jeans!

Here are two outfits that work well for a cool day and still have a spring feel! Think you need to put away your leather pants…keep scrolling and you’ll change your mind!

I’m wearing a pair of Citizens of Humanity Jeans, a Rebecca Taylor sweater, a Brinker & Elize chain link necklace, a Marni bag from several seasons ago, and Chloe espadrilles from last spring. The necklace and bag add just enough of a punch to take this outfit from plain to wow! Accessories really do make a difference!

Don’t put away those leather pants just yet, Spring is the perfect weather to wear them!

I suppose any garment made from leather feels like it should be reserved for Autumn/Winter but why is that? Leather is actually very comfortable for the mild (sometimes cold) temperatures of Spring. Think trans-seasonal – it’s a sunny day and the weather is perfect but there’s a light breeze so you throw a leather jacket over your t-shirt. Well, the same can be said for leather pants. The terrific thing about good quality leather is how classy its looks with very little effort. The luxurious leather speaks volumes even paired with a simple blue sweater. For a French chic look, add a blazer and pumps. A sexy evening look is just as effortless pairing these leather pants with a silk blouse and strappy sandals. Believe me, the styling options here are endless. Leather pants are incredibly versatile and I have worn these pants so often!

This outfit is really simple, but the accessories are fabulous. My blue Valentino sandals work so well with the leather pants and blue sweater and the white handbag and sunglasses definitely jazz things up! I’ll wear these leather pants into May and pull them back out in September! Leather is an investment and if you purchase leather pants, you should be wearing them!
