Wow what a week it’s been! I got home from the beach on Monday and jumped back in with both feet! Between blogging, catching up on appointments…nails, lashes, hair…and getting ready for my daughter Sarah and grandson to come home for a while, I am one tired girl!

Does anyone else feel as if they can never get it all done! We’ve had painters here, the laundry is piled high, the dogs are crazy and I’m feeling a little overwhelmed. But…it finally feels like summer is in full swing and I’m very happy about that!

I’m headed to Boston on Friday of this week to visit my daughter Rebecca and the weather is going to be really nice! I’ve been so many times to visit, but only once during warm weather and she was moving so we had no time to be tourists. This trip, I’m excited to go to the seaport and have a lobster roll and stroll around taking pictures! I’ll be doing a travel post of all the things to do in Boston when the weather is warm, so be on the lookout for that coming soon! I’m kind of a hotel snob and love to stay in great close-to-everything locations with beautiful rooms and definitely room service! We’re staying at the Liberty Hotel on Charles Street…it was originally built to be the Charles Street Jail! I’ve stayed there once before and loved it!

I’m also looking ahead to July 4th! We’ll be having a big family cookout and I’m researching some new recipes! Of course, there are the tried and true recipes that I always make like my Grilled Corn Salad! But, if anyone has a delicious side dish they would like to share…please let me know because I’m always looking for something new!

Favorite New Books

I just got this beautiful book by Amanda Lindroth - Island Hopping is filled with gorgeous images of beach homes! There are so many great ideas to copy and be inspired by!

I purchased this book while at Bald Head Island…I just couldn’t resist the beautiful cover! You know I love to put together a good charcuterie board and I’m always looking for inspiration!

Mark D. Sikes knows how to make everything look beautiful and never disappoints! I’ve just ordered this book and can’t wait for it to be delivered! We’re planning a remodel and I need all the inspiration I can find!

Entertainment

Queen Bees is at the top of my list of new movies to watch! I was laughing hysterically just watching the trailer!

Baldy and I binge watched the first season of Lupin and we are excited to see where season 2 takes us! If you didn’t see the first season, you’ll definitely want to catch up!

Recipes and Beautiful Food

This Frosted Watermelon Frosé from Half Baked Harvest comes just in time for any July 4th celebration…or maybe this afternoon!

I came across this beautiful Instagram account @thedaleyplate while scrolling the other day! You’ll love this one!

Salmon is one of my favorite things to eat for dinner so I’m always looking for new ways to prepare it! This Crispy Salmon Bowl from What’s Gaby Cooking looks amazing…I’m thinking dinner on Monday!

Yesterday, my friend Kim and I got together and made a beautiful spread just for fun! Kim knows how to make anything beautiful and her platters are no exception! We kept the color palette to whites and greens and combined sweet and savory! I learned so much from her and we had a great time creating and then eating this spread! Look forward to a blog post with more details coming soon!

Summer Shopping

I was gifted these beautiful sandals by Bells & Becks. I’m so glad to know about this brand because they make the most beautiful Italian leather shoes!

Another new-to-me brand is Poupette St. Barth. I don’t know why it took me so long to discover these beautiful clothes! My romper above is perfect for porch sitting or brunch! I also bought a swimsuit coverup while visiting Monkee’s of Wilmington! Both are great paired with a big hat and statement earrings (see below)!

One summer trend that I’m totally on board with is bucket hats! This one is in my shopping cart and I can’t wait to wear it on our next beach trip!
