Easy Living - Comfortable Basics to Take You Through Summer
When I think of summer, I think of beach trips, al fresco dinners, siting on my front porch in the afternoons, spending time outdoors with family, and farmer’s markets. Summer is supposed to be relaxed, casual and fun. Of course, there are weddings, garden parties, and hopefully some fancy cocktail parties and fabulous dinners out at great restaurants, but for the most part, dressing up in summer is the exception as far as I’m concerned.
Easy is the name of the game when all you want to do is be outside enjoying the weather! Wide leg pants, shorts, muscle tees (so on trend), espadrilles and straw bags make getting dressed effortless.
I’m wearing a muscle tee from Loft (it comes in so many colors), white wide leg jeans from Citizens of Humanity (unfortunately they are sold out, but I’ve linked similar), Chloe Espadrilles and a straw bag from Amazon. Funny story…I bought this bag last season and Amos chewed it up…completely, but, it was so inexpensive at just $30, that I ordered another one…totally guilt free. I’m hoping Dash doesn’t chew this one up. I take this bag everywhere from the grocery store to the pool. It’s just the right size to hold all of my essentials!
When I started looking for cute tee shirts to link in this post, I was surprised at how many I found. Tee shirts can be tricky because if the quality isn’t good, they don’t last very long. I’ve tried to link great quality tees in lots of colors and styles because if you’re like me, you live in them in summer. It’s so easy to throw on jeans or shorts and a cute tee shirt and go. Ruffles are so on trend right now as are muscle tees and I’ve included these styles in the boutique below, so keep scrolling and I hope you enjoy!
This coming week will be our first summer weather week with highs in the low 90’s. I am so ready for full on summer and I don’t mind the heat. It’s going to be crazy this summer as my youngest daughter, Sarah, and my grandson Bristol, are coming to stay with us for an extended period of time…maybe until after Christmas! I’m so looking forward to spending time with them and really getting to know my grandson. I’m also looking forward to seeing him with Hudson and Graham. If I had my way, all three of my girls would live down the street so I could see them everyday! There will be lots of cookouts, beach trips and days spent by the pool. I'll be stocking up on floats, sunscreen, pool toys and one piece swimsuits because you know I’ll be in the water splashing around with them!
What is your “summer style” and what are your plans this summer?
