All The Things to Do In May!

Spring is in full swing here in North Carolina! Everything is green, the flowers are blooming and it’s just so beautiful (we won’t mention the pollen). I went strawberry picking yesterday and made homemade strawberry shortcake and I’ve been cleaning the house and getting ready for a busy week. I’ve also been a little under the weather with a bad cold…I’ve been coughing my head off for the past week and my voice has been all but gone. I keep thinking every morning that I’ll get up and feel like myself again, but it’s kind of dragging on! I’m trying to not let it slow me down, but it has affected a few things, like I can’t make a video because my voice is so bad! However, I’m really hoping that it’s almost over and things will get back to normal. I found this article about cold remedies from the Mayo Clinic helpful…turns out I’ve been doing everything I should be doing, except maybe resting enough…it just has to run it’s course.

This week, I have a special guest coming into town…you’ve seen her jewelry on the blog lately! Julie Miles is arriving tomorrow evening to stay with me for a couple of days and do a trunk show with her beautiful designs on Tuesday. If you’re local…please stop by and meet Julie!

On Thursday, I’m going to be β€œmodel for a night” in the Anthropologie Fashion Show in Greensboro, NC. This will be my 3rd year participating in the fashion show and it’s always a fun evening. The admission is $10 and the money raised goes to Every Mother Counts. Every Mother Counts was founded by Christy Turlington in 2010 to raise awareness about the need for maternity care. Again, if you’re local come and join me for an evening of fashion and support a great cause! You can purchase tickets here.

On Friday morning, I’m leaving for NYC to attend the Create and Cultivate Conference on May 4. It’s a one day conference filled with panels, pop ups, mic drop moments, mentor power hours, delicious food, cocktails and more. The core focus of the conferences is to entertain, enlighten and inform women around key topics surrounding life as an entrepreneur. The ever changing digital landscape, entrepreneurship, and the real talk that comes with being a modern working woman (is that me?). From launching a blog or a business, developing content strategies or just taking your business to the next level. I’ll be networking with like-minded women (most of them younger than me) and hearing advice from some of the best in the business. I’m excited to hear speakers such as Gabrielle Bernstein, Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Rebecca Minkoff and so many more. This is my second time attending the conference and I’m excited to come home with new ideas and knowledge to make Crazy Blonde Life better!

The Sephora Beauty Event is still going strong! Don’t miss this chance to stock up on summer beauty essentials while they’re on sale!

Oh my gosh, there is so much more that I’m excited about...

On May 1, the first issue of Blondie, The Magazine, will be available. Last year, with the help of a few special people, I created my first magazine, The Midlife Comeback Plan. Blondie, is an extension of that magazine and will be published quarterly. This first issue will feature interviews with four inspiring (and successful) women who have become entrepreneurs in midlife. Blondie will also include a skin care column that will answer questions about the latest and greatest in the world of skincare…from products to procedures. Also, look for fashion, some delicious recipes and interiors, and so much more.

AND…Crazy Blonde Life turns 4 years old on May 3 as I turn 56 on May 4! I am just getting started!

May is right around the corner and there is so much to do! Here are a few things that you may enjoy!

As I said above, I went strawberry picking yesterday and there isn’t much better than a freshly picked warm strawberry! I’m excited to make Roasted Strawberry Trifles with Lemon Cream!
