September Favorites - This & That...From Supplements to Lasagna

There are so many amazing things to discover on the Internet and it can be really overwhelming at times - like going down the rabbit hole! In light of that, I’ve narrowed it down just a bit and today I’m sharing a few things that I think are really great!

This TEDx Talk by Caroline McHugh is one of the best I’ve seen…I actually watched it three times the day I discovered it. It’s sooo inspiring and don’t we all need a little inspiration! “Caroline is founder and CEO of IDOLOGY, a movement dedicated to helping individuals and organizations be fully deployed, original versions of themselves. IDOLOGY is her word for putting your self to work, and it has gone from being a fanciful idea, to a bit of a lapel grabber, to qualification criteria for anyone determined to perform to their potential.”

I always find mid-September to be one of the most exciting times of year. After a very steamy August (especially in the South), even the slightest breath of cooler, crisp air makes me want to bust out my favorite booties and start filling my calendar with Fall parties. And when it comes to hosting dinnerstailgates, or happy hours any time of year, there’s one thing I can always count on to be the life of the party…a perfect cheese board. Little details go a long way when it comes to impressing your guests and entertaining in style. For your next cheese board, try using dried fruit paired with your favorite cheeses. Some of my favorite combinations are:

Black Mission Figs with Bold Italian Hard Cheese like Parmesan, Piave Vecchio, French Beaufort or Spanish Manchego

Dried Apricots with Brie, Camembert, Cambazola, Point Reyes Blue and Roquefort

Dried Bing Cherries withParmesan, Mascarpone, Humboldt Fog Goat, Drunken Goat or Sainte André.

Sun Dried Pears with blues such as Roquefort, Shropshire, Blue de Auvergne, Cambazola, as well as English Farmhouse Cheddar and Triple Crème like Sainte Andrè

Dried Pitted Dates with Mt. Tam, Parmesan, Tomme de Savoie and/or Pyrenees Vache with green peppercorns
