A Simple Core Workout
This is my first fitness post and I'm so excited to share it with you all! I made a short video that teaches a core workout that will also indirectly work your whole body. I have been working with the same trainer off and on for about 25 years and this is a version of a workout that I recently did with him. Please know that I'm not a professional trainer, just a girl that has been working out for most of her life. I am a certified yoga instructor, but this video isn't yoga, it's a workout that anyone can do, anywhere.
You don't need any equipment to do this short workout, just yourself and maybe a mat, but that's not even a requirement. I hope you enjoy!
If you don't even have the 10 minutes it takes to do this video, you can always sneak a little exercise in throughout the day! Here are a few ways...
Do a short sequence of exercises...10 jumping jacks, run in place for 45 seconds lifting knees as high as possible, do 10 push-ups and 10 squats (repeat if time allows).
While brushing your teeth, do 30 squats.
While sitting at your computer, do isometric holds, clenching in your stomach for 10 seconds, relax and repeat. Do the same with glutes.
Walk quickly around the block or take the stairs instead of the elevator.
Do plies while waiting on the microwave or waiting for the pasta water to boil.
Do 10 - 15 pushups on the side of the counter.
Every little bit counts when it comes to exercise and while these may sound silly, if you do these simple exercises every day, it will make a difference.
Please check back for an exciting fitness challenge that I'm announcing later this week! It's time to get in shape for summer and for life!
Throughout the coming weeks, I'll be sharing more fitness tips as well as healthy recipes to go along with this workout!
