Forever Fierce

On February 19th I did a blog post with nine fierce women and asked the question...What does it mean to be fierce at midlife?  I was chosen as a blogger by the Forever Fierce Facebook group founder, Catherine Grace O'Connell and her team to be one of fifty women to create a blog post around the answers to this question.  It was,  and is, a big deal for me and I want to share why today.  The Forever Fierce Campaign started only a little over a year ago and it was called the Fierce Fifty.  The group consisted, at the time, of 50 women who set out to change the perception of women at midlife.  This group of fifty has now grown to over 5000!!!  I am proud to be a part of this movement, now renamed the Forever Fierce Revolution, as a volunteer and member.  This group is not only changing the perception of women in mid life, it is a supportive and caring community where women can feel safe, heard and loved.

Mid life for women can be a difficult time.  So many of us have spent the better part of our lives raising and nurturing children and focusing our attention on our families.   Many women have done this while working full time, leaving little time for ourselves.  Suddenly, everything in our world changes when our children leave.  Even if we don't have children, society sees us as...no longer relevant, because of our age.  This is so far from the truth and the Forever Fierce Revolution is changing the way women at mid life are viewed. We are a powerful group with so much to offer to society and the world!

I'm assuming that for the most part, my Crazy Blonde Life readers are women, mostly in mid life, although I like to think that I appeal to all women with fashion, inspiration and food!  The point is that if you aren't a member of this group, you are really missing out!  I post every day on the Facebook page, but I also really enjoy reading and commenting on other posts.  I like to feel that I am supporting women, bloggers and non bloggers and that they are supporting me.  Social media can seem like a remote place sometimes, but I truly feel that I have "met" women who are friends. There are women who are isolated and struggling and have no one to talk to about their life and problems and this group has been literally life saving for some of them!  The group consists of women from all over the world, making it very diverse, but you will see that we are much more alike than we are different.  There is no place for negativity in this group!

I want to give a huge shout out to the amazing founder of the Forever Fierce Revolution, Catherine Grace O'Connell!  I have "gotten to know" Catherine through my volunteer work with the Forever Fierce Revolution, and her mission is truly to empower and support women and show society that women at mid life are vibrant, relevant and Fierce.  Catherine is a blogger and she does a video talk show in Los Angeles where she does interviews that "fiercely empower women of all ages through the lens of midlife".

I am traveling to New York on Tuesday morning to attend a dinner where I will have a chance to meet Catherine Grace and a group of members of the Forever Fierce Revolution.  I am beyond excited to go and meet my Fierce sisters!  Again, if you haven't joined you are missing out!  The world needs more "places" like this where women (people) can go and feel supported and loved!!  When something like The Forever Fierce Revolution happens so organically, it's like MAGIC...so don't miss out on an opportunity to be part of it!

As you can tell, I'm really passionate about this group!  I hope you've enjoyed my post today!  I'll be back to food and fashion tomorrow so be sure to check back to see what I'm up to!  Thanks so much for reading!
