Best Trends for Spring 2018
Yesterday afternoon, my friend and stylist, Hanna of Maven Stylist, came by to help me organize and refresh my closet! I always get so bored with my wardrobe this time of the year and fresh eyes always help to put some excitement into the items that I already own! Hanna has an amazing sense of style and she came up with so many ideas! We played for several hours, took pictures of the outfits that she put together, and when she left, I was ready to get dressed and go somewhere! Unfortunately, I had nowhere to go...but today I do! If you're feeling the same way that I was, I encourage you to find some inspiration, whether it's Pinterest, Instagram, or a friend that can help you with new ways to style the things you have hanging in your closet. It is also very helpful to take pictures of your outfits so you don't forget what shoes to wear with what jeans etc...! Today, I've already been looking at websites and I'm so inspired to try some new trends using the clothes that I have. I did a little research and I'm sharing some of the trends for 2018 in this post! I hope you enjoy!
The booties...well I do love a good bootie! White was big for fall/winter and is still going strong for spring! You'll also see everything in booties from cowgirl to glitter! This spring, dressing should be fun!
When it comes to bags, look for over-the-top embellishments, non-traditional shapes, belt bags, pouches, box clutches and lavender (try pairing lavender with red!).
Last fall, bell sleeves, cold shoulder and off-the-shoulder tops were everywhere. This spring, the big news in tops is the return of the statement top. The trend includes ruched and ruffled, sideways collars, sleeve trims and tulle sleeves. These blouses and tops are dressy, artful but not stuffy and different from anything in your wardrobe!
I actually found the top I'm wearing in the picture on sale at Zara! It is pretty basic with the exception of the puffy, embroidered sleeves and that's part of the reason I love it! I can throw it on with anything and still feel on trend and comfortable.
The trends you can expect for denim include top stitching, dark wash and 90's baggy! Everything old is new again!
It's Monday, my closet is organized, I am packed (mostly) for my trip to Naples, and I have outfits planned for several weeks! That's what I call a good day!
