2 Outfit Ideas for New Years Eve With Vintage Touches

Imagine being at a wonderful party on December 31st, in a beautiful location, with a glass of Champagne in your hand and someone you love by your side!
The countdown has begun! 5...4...3...2... you are ready to toast the New Year and everyone is looking at you.

What in the world will you wear?

Searching for that one jaw-dropping outfit to make your New Year's Eve totally unforgettable can be daunting! But…sometimes to go forward in the fashion realm, you need to take a step back. I’ve put together two outfits - one is a bit casual and one is dressier, and I’ve added a vintage element to each. These pieces make me feel as I’ve been transported a few decades back, and they give my outfits a bit of glam from an era where being glamorous was the norm!

The first outfit is definitely more casual, but still very eye catching! I started with the most yummy red velvet pants by McGuire Denim and added a great cutwork fitted top from Autumn Cashmere. I do get frustrated when I buy a piece that I really love but can’t find the exact piece to link. However, I’ve linked some similar tops below that I think will also be great with these pants. I accessorized the outfit with a darling vintage bag that I found at a thrift store several years ago. It is red velvet and still has the original perfume bottle and compact in it! I’ve worn this bag out in New York and also to several Christmas parties. I absolutely love it and it was only $3 (talk about a steel). I added a pair of statement earrings and platform sandals that have a touch of red (also love these less expensive ones!). I would feel comfortable going out to dinner or to a casual party dressed in this outfit. I also might just recycle it for Valentine’s Day!

The second outfit is so much fun and much dressier! Trina Turk sent me this fabulous dress a while back (thank you Trina) and I have been saving it for New Year’s Eve! It’s a basic black dress but it’s made fabulous with a great bow tie rhinestone collar! Kind of like a tuxedo dress! This look is one that I love and also one that will keep me warm which is always a consideration for me. I accessorized with a vintage fur wrap (also from a thrift store), earrings from Chloe & Isabel, amazing floral tights, and my favorite stiletto booties! Red lipstick has definitely been a thing for me this year and Dior is my favorite!

This vintage wrap also adds an element of glamour and fun to jeans and a basic blouse or long sleeve tee. It is real fur so it’s very warm.
