What I Wore Christmas Tree Shopping

Yesterday, Rebecca and I set out for the Christmas tree lot. It seems early to be putting up a live tree so we ended up just getting a few wreaths and a β€œCharlie Brown tree” for the front porch. We did find some great vintage Santa lights that I’m excited to decorate with. After nearly freezing to death, we stopped into a local shop to stock up on Nest Christmas candles and get cocktail napkins to have on hand, and then headed to Target to see what fun things they had to decorate with. I love to mix amber color lights in with the small clear lights when we decorate the tree because it adds so much warmth, but they’re hard to find unless you go early. Luckily there were plenty left yesterday so we nabbed those and then headed home for some Thanksgiving leftovers.

I wore a thick fleece sweatshirt and warm hiking boots from Target along with jeans and a plaid scarf to keep things feeling festive. The boots I’m wearing are β€œtemporarily out of stock”, but I’ve linked a pair that I like just as well!

If you’re going to make a day of Christmas tree shopping, make a large thermos of this rich and warming hot chocolate (add a little Bailey’s if you’re staying home) for the trip! Get the recipe here!

We’ll get our tree and decorate this weekend! I do miss the family decorating parties we had when our girls were living at home, but it’s still a fun weekend and I love to make the house look festive. Thanks so much for reading today! Happy Saturday!!
