Dress For the Year You Want!

We're well into the month of January and I'm still refining my thoughts on the year I want to have.  While some things are obviously front and center, such as making Crazy Blonde Life better than ever, it's how I want to feel that I'm thinking more about.  Lately, I've been able to catch myself in patterns of behavior, I guess you could call them "bad habits", such as mindlessly eating nuts from the can, or thinking in a negative way and I've consciously changed the behavior by talking myself out of it.  This might sound silly, but I have a perception of myself that's the way I want to be all of the time and sometimes my behavior doesn't fit that perception.  I want to feel confident, strong, joyful, curious, and beautiful.  I want to be a good friend, wife and mother.  I want to be nurturing and inspiring and it is true that when you dress for the day, the day seems to go the way you want it to.  Passion, Love, Adventure...what shall I wear for those everyday?  Remember, how you spend your days is how you spend your life!  Approach your life as though it  were about the journey everyday and not the destination.  Everyday will be an adventure and dressing the part is important!

This top from Free People is an unexpected choice for me.  I wore it on Christmas Eve and I loved how feminine it made me feel.  I wore a simple pair of black faux leather leggings and a black cami underneath.  The flowy skirt and beautiful beading were festive for the holidays, but I think this top will be so much fun for other occasions all year.  I would style it with white skinny jeans and maybe wear a black bra underneath instead of a cami when the weather is warmer.  It would be a fun bohemian outfit for the beach with the breeze catching the skirt!  Stay tuned for that blog post later in the year!

I'm including a bodystocking by Donna Karen in the links below!  I just ran across it when I was looking for similar items to what I'm wearing.  It would be amazing under this top and so many more things.

The picture below was my favorite picture in this outfit.  I got the idea from photographer Carla Coulson.  Check out her website for unlimited inspiration!
