Being a Grandmother is the Best!

I've been in Atlanta with Lauren, Chris and Hudson since Tuesday and we've had so much fun!  Hudson turned 2 years old yesterday and I wasn't about to let him celebrate his birthday without me!  We've cooked and shopped and thrown pennies in the fountain at Avalon and read books and yesterday, we had a birthday celebration.  Hudson got to do whatever he wanted all day long and he had his favorite dinner...spaghetti with birthday cake.

One of the reasons that I love being in Atlanta so much is because I get to watch my daughter being such a great mother!  Hudson is one of the happiest children that I've ever been around and I know it's because Lauren and Chris have made such a great home for him.  He has an adorable playroom with every toy imaginable, but the most important thing is that he is loved beyond anything I can describe.

Lauren and Chris have taught Hudson to "strike a pose"!

On Wednesday, we went to one of my favorite places for lunch, Rumi's Kitchen at Avalon.  The food is Persian and so delicious.  We got a little distracted because Hudson was entertaining everyone in the restaurant and I forgot to take any pictures beyond the appetizer.

One of Hudson's birthday presents was a huge blow-up bouncy house!

Spaghetti and birthday cake are best eaten without a shirt!

We made this easy, but extremely tasty Buratta Salad with Pesto and Cherry Tomatoes for dinner to go along with our Spaghetti.

When I leave Atlanta on Sunday, I will be sad, but I know that I'm leaving a very happy and very loved little boy and I get to look forward to spending many more days with him as he grows up!  That's one of the best gifts of all!

Today, we're continuing with the Birthday celebration.  Lauren and I are making Elmo cupcakes for a Sesame Street birthday party tomorrow.  All of Hudson's friends from baby's morning out are invited and I'm excited to meet them!

I hope you'll excuse the family photo album today!  Next week, I'll be back to being a foodie and a fashionista, but for now, I'm going to be a grandmother!  Have a great day, and follow me on Instagram @crazyblondelifeblog!
