Ceramics by Rebecca Leigh Smith

Today, I'm featuring the beautiful ceramics of my daughter Rebecca!  Rebecca has always loved art and has drawn pictures, knitted, painted, and anything else artsy that she could do, for as long as I can remember.  When it was time for her to go to college, she wanted to go to Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia, although she wasn't sure what she wanted to major in.  She graduated last June with a major in Fibers and a minor in ceramics.  Rebecca recently moved from Savannah to Boston and has joined a ceramics cooperative where she is able to continue to make beautiful pieces that she is now selling.

Rebecca loves the process of creating and says that "when we create, there is a connection between the mind, the heart and the hand".  She believes that we should surround ourselves with things that we find beautiful.  She wants her pieces to add quality to everyday life.  By drinking coffee from a beautifully crafted mug or serving a thoughtfully prepared meal on an exquisite platter we can elevate the everyday.
