Sarah and Will's Wedding
We've been anticipating pictures from Sarah and Will's wedding for a while now and here they are! I'm starting at the end and then starting again at the beginning and I know that makes no sense, so let me explain. When Sarah and Will told us they were getting married last year on December 23, we knew that it was going to be a year of crazy and we were right! The fun started in February with their official wedding and "for family only wedding reception"! The problem is that every girl wants the big wedding and the beautiful wedding gown and...February was just the beginning. We started planning the "big" wedding right after the first wedding - are you getting dizzy yet? It all started on a cold day in Charlotte when Sarah found the perfect wedding dress at Hayden-Olivia Bridal. Shortly after, Sarah finished her sophomore year at High Point University and moved to Clarksville, Tennessee to be with Will. We moved her in May and they started their official lives together in an adorable condominum. The wedding details were mostly planned over the summer when we were all together at Bald Head Island. The guest list was made and our florist, Lyn Moser, joined us for lunch at one of the local restaurants and the flowers were discussed. When we got home from Bald Head, I hit the ground running, taking care of the details and starting food prep. I did most of the food, but had a little help from a local caterer.
The reason that I said we started at the end is because, the bridal pictures and the couple shots were taken in September, after the wedding in August. Sarah and Will had to get back to Clarksville and so...Sara-Anne Caudle, of Sara-Anne Photography and I went to them in Nashville, to do the rest of the pictures. Sarah was determined to have portraits done in Nashville at the Thompson Hotel and that is just what we did. It's a miracle we didn't get run over when we were in the middle of the street, Sara-Anne taking pictures, and me fluffing the wedding gown. It was the most fun! I'm starting with those pictures because they're my favorites, and at least, the bridal portraits should have been first.
This was Will, right before the wedding.
Sarah and Hudson...he may have had more fun than anyone!
Getting ready to walk her down the aisle. We were a little unconventional because we both walked her down. I wasn't about to miss that part!
Smiles of relief!
The bridal party!
Sarah and Will arriving at the reception that was held at our home.
The official cake smash!
I had the Lil Photo Bus come to the reception to take fun pictures of the guests. We had the street closed off on the side of our house and everyone chose from the props, including hats, glasses and more, climbed in the bus and had their pictures made. It was a huge hit, especially with the children and the over served!
First dances!
We had the most incredible band and Rebecca's boyfriend Hayes, who is an incredibly talented musician joined them for a few songs. Everyone loved the band and we danced until we were all exhausted.
A few pictures of the food and flowers.
Mr. and Mrs. William Bruce McHugh, Sarah and Will! We are incredibly happy to have Will McHugh for our son-in-law!
The picture below was taken at the rooftop bar, L.A. Jackson, at the Thompson Hotel!
I've been waiting for a while to share this with you all! I hope you've enjoyed and maybe gotten a few ideas for your next event.
