Making Peace in The Moment

“Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create.”
~ Roy T. Bennett

This post is sort of a brain dump.  I've been thinking more and more every day about the quality of my life and the only way to have a quality life is to quit worrying about things so much and enjoy every moment as much as possible.  I am 100% certain that we were put here to enjoy this life.

I also want to mention that my posts have changed a little bit lately because I was invited to become a member of Rewards Style.  Rewards Style is an affiliate link program that allows me to provide shopping links in my posts and get paid a commission if I make sales.  It is my promise to you that I will never provide links to things that I wouldn't buy myself!  I have thrown my heart and soul into this blog and it has become very time consuming, but going along with enjoying the journey, I love blogging.  It's so much fun to come up with posts every day to share with you, whether it be recipes, fashion or inspiration.  I have learned so much about so many topics because of research that I've done, I'm a much better photographer than I was when I started this blog and I've learned many computer skills.  It's nice to finally be able to make a little money for what I'm doing.  I appreciate your support and if you want to shop, that's great, if you just want to read the blog...that's great also.

I've talked before about my meditation practice and how much it has changed my life, along with the very intentional practice of being aware of how I feel and what I'm thinking.  I don't want to just let my life happen any more, I want to continue to create a life that I love.  Below, I'm just brain dumping about some of that!  I hope it serves you in some way.  Have a great day!

We are not here to get stuff done.  So many times, we have long to-do lists and we cross off our to-do's one at a time.   It can feel good to "get stuff done", but do we enjoy what we're doing when we're getting stuff done or are we just doing for the feeling at the end.  We're supposed to enjoy the process of doing "stuff".  In other words, enjoy the journey!

Make peace with where you are before you can get anywhere else.  No situation gets better until you make peace with it.

Quiet your mind so that you can hear the answers to the questions you've been asking.  If you never take the time to be still, you will miss the inspiration when it comes.

Your emotions tell you all you need to know, so pay attention to them.  If something doesn't feel right, it probably isn't.

You will never have a happy ending to an unhappy journey.  Change the journey...walk in your peace, find reasons every day to be happy.  Be intentional.

Stop thinking about things that don't make you happy.  Worry never helps anything.  Change your thoughts because the more you think unpleasant thoughts, the worse you'll feel and the worse you feel the more you think unpleasant thoughts and the more you think unpleasant thoughts the worse you'll feel...
