CELEBRATION FOR THE 4TH
We spent a lot of time preparing our patio for the 4th because we had invited some friends over and we wanted to be outside to eat and celebrate, but when we got up yesterday it was raining! The sun ended up coming out just in time for our celebration, but it was sooo muggy..that explains the frizzy hair! I cooked and prepared most of the day yesterday and it was a delicious meal. I decided to be a little untraditional and grill some chicken and veggies and make some fun salads. It was a hit because everyone was asking for the recipes and I have included them in this post, so keep scrolling!
I was planning to wear white jeans because I thought it was going to be cool out but it wasn't! I decided on this cute dress by Sail to Sable that I got a few weeks ago at Mynt Boutique. I love shopping at Mynt for everything from jewelry to jeans!!
Our dinner menu was marinated grilled chicken, corn salad, cannellini bean salad, grilled vegetables, roasted asparagus, watermelon, and for dessert I made brownies with my homemade lavender ice cream and blueberries! Most of the food was served in bowls made by my daughter Rebecca (check out her website here)!

This corn salad is the perfect summer salad made with fresh corn! Both of the bowls below were made by Rebecca! Art for the table!
The dressing for the cannelloni bean salad is green from all of the fresh basil and parsley!

Love that beautiful smile!
Three of my favorite guys! Mr. Crazy Blonde looks like he might be up to something!
We are so blessed to have great friends and family!
We ended the evening with sparklers!
