SNEAKING AROUND AND FOSTER'S MARKET
This week has gone by so quickly and I can't believe it's Saturday morning! We were at the beach last week this time and it seems like yesterday! All week long, I tried to get organized and put my house back together from having my girls move home for the summer and bring all of their stuff with them. We still made time for a little fun and of course blogging! Yesterday, Rebecca and I decided to photograph her modeling this great Madewell dress. We didn't have much time so we went in search of a place to take pictures. At first, we were going to go to our little downtown and find a spot but on the way we passed our neighbor's beautiful house and realized that they were out of town so we took the opportunity to take some pictures in their garden. It is one of my favorite houses in Burlington so I was happy to be there and I know that they wouldn't have minded! Hence the title of this post, Sneaking Around.
After we took pictures we went to Durham to do a little shopping and have lunch. We had lunch at Foster's Market which is one of my favorite places. Foster's Market is owned by Sara Foster and I blogged about one of her cookbooks (which I love) not long ago. I have every cookbook she's written and they are all full of delicious Southern recipes. Foster's Market is a gourmet food market and cafe. Everything is made there and the food is fabulous! The have an array of gourmet food for sale and also a sandwich and salad menu. The inside is fun and unexpected with a little bit of everything. Foster's opened in 1990 with food prepared to take out or eat in. It is a gathering spot for Durham!
Rebecca's Madewell dress was featured in Elle Magazine and when she saw it she immediately loved it! It is a great dress for summer but it will also be good for fall and even winter with a shortsleeve top or turtleneck under. She paired it with Madewell sandals and a Marc Jacobs bucket bag. The bandana just adds a little bit of interest. She got so many compliments on it yesterday while we were shopping!
We of course, had to bring some cookies home for later!
You can buy wine by the glass or get a cold bottle to share. My lunch was three salads...fresh corn with asparagus and cherry tomatoes, prosciutto wrapped grilled peaches with kale and goat cheese (it was so good), and an arugula salad.
The girls both ordered sandwiches and devoured them!
I loved this little nook! It was very warm yesterday so we decided to eat inside, but this would be such a sweet spot to have lunch!
Gliders on the front porch!
Have a great weekend everyone! Please let me know what you think of this post! I always welcome your comments and suggestions!
