ITALY AGAIN - LE SIRENUSE

Le Sirenuse Hotel is located in Positano Italy.  It was the summer home of the Sersales, the Marchesi Aldo, Paolo, Anna and Franco Sersale and they decided to turn it into a charming hotel.  Le Sirenuse overlooks the bay of Positano.  It is a 58 room resort and is one of Italy's leading seaside luxury hotels yet still retains the atmosphere of a private home.  The hotel is located at the center of the village of Positano.  The rooms and terraces are "an unbeatable oasis of peace and silence with breathtaking views".

Franco Sersale was an art connoisseur whose taste in art helped to define Le Sirenuse's style.  Franco died in 2015.  His son, Antonio looks after the day to day running of the hotel.

This is one of the signature cocktails of Le Sirenuse

Le Sirenuse Champagne Cocktail

2 ounces gin - preferably No. 3 London Dry Gin

1 1/2 tablespoons Maraschino liqueur

2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice

a drop of Agave Nectar to taste

Place all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with whole ice cubes and shake vigorously, then pour into a white wine glass (not a flute) and top up with your favorite Champagne.   Garnish with a single maraschino cherry.

This hotel is most definitely on my bucket list!
