FT. LAUDERDALE
I left Wednesday morning at 5:30am to catch a flight to meet my husband in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. He had been there since Monday and we decided it would be fun to extend his trip and see what Ft. Lauderdale was all about! I have to confess that I don't have any shopping or dining recommendations. We only left the resort once the whole time we were there!!! We stayed at the Diplomat and it was wonderful. The Diplomat Resort and Spa is a very old hotel with a rich history, there were pictures of Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra back in the day. I was very tired on Wednesday night so we ended up having a fabulous meal at the hotel and I didn't even think once about taking any pictures. We woke up on Thursday feeling refreshed and ready for some fun in the sun! The only problem was that there wasn't much sun. We took advantage of what sun there was and did a little more resting and some walking on the beach. Later that night we went to GG's Waaterfront Bar and Grill and had some stone crab claws, unfortunately I didn't remember to take many pictures there, but I did get a picture of the dessert! It was a bread pudding with caramel ice cream! The food was so good!! We ate outside on the water which I don't recommend because my hair was very frizzy by the time we left!
This is the daytime view from our room on the 29th floor. The water was so blue and clear!
Eating at the pool bar with the ocean behind us.
The famous bread pudding!
The view from GG's!
The flowers in the lobby were beautiful!
This is the night view from our room on the 29th floor of the hotel! It was spectacular!
The Halloween Moon, looks so spooky!
When we woke up on Friday we knew it was going to be a beautiful day! We did exactly what we wanted all day long...how often does that happen!
The sun rising over the water was breathtaking!
Margaritas by the pool with a perfect shell that we found on the beach.
Fish Tacos by the pool!
These were the best shrimp ever!
We stopped at the Sushi Bar in the hotel to have an appetizer and decide what we wanted to do for dinner and the rest of the evening. We had every intention of going in search of another great restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, however we ended up sitting there for 3 hours and talking! I wouldn't have changed a thing, it was the perfect evening and the sushi was soooo good! I even got to wear my new Mara Hoffman dress. I guess this Crazy Blonde wasn't so crazy this trip!
It was sad to leave, but we had to be home for Hudson's first Halloween! There are some things in life that you don't want to miss.
Check back by the blog tomorrow for my Halloween post. I've gotten a little behind, but it was worth it.
