I was drawn to this very special dress from Spartina 449 the minute I saw it. It has a vintage, romantic feel…and, for some reason, it reminds me of something from The Great Gatsby! The crushed velvet fabric with a chartreuse and blue floral pattern is so beautiful, and I love the high neckline and sheer sleeves which both have beautiful button detail. I think it’s perfect for the holiday season and would wear it to a holiday party or even Christmas Eve, but it would also be amazing for Thanksgiving. I accessorized with a long strand of pearls because I think they add to the romance of the look, along with a cozy fur wrap (also from Spartina) that is so soft and adds just the right amount of warmth for going out. The tall suede kitten heel boots are from Staud in a gorgeous taupe that complements the dress so perfectly. I carried my own suede bag, but the Spartina Braided Gold Minaudiere I’ve linked in the boutique below would be a beautiful accessory (at a great price), especially for an evening party.

I honestly can’t say enough about how much I love this cozy faux fur wrap! It’s so perfect styled with the dress but I’ll also wear it to dress up jeans and a top. Luckily, Spartina makes a gorgeous top in this same fabric that’s just as fabulous as the dress (more on that to come). It’s nice to be prepared and have a few outfit ideas lined up before the holiday season really arrives and then you’ll have one less thing to think about when those invitations start to roll in, and…you’ll look absolutely smashing!

Putting this look together has me excited for all that’s coming over the next couple of months! I love the decorating and the cooking, but getting myself ready, pouring a glass of wine and enjoying the evening is a pretty fabulous part of the holidays, too. I want to leave a little more time for that this year…to sit at the table a little longer and enjoy the people I’ve done all of that decorating and cooking for!
