Sweet Potatoes with Candied Bacon Spirals - My Latest YouTube Video

Good Morning! It’s the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and I’ve been cooking nonstop for what seems like days! I’ve made a huge Brussels Sprouts Casserole, a Gluten Free Corn Pudding (recipe from No Crumbs Left), a delicious Thai Coconut Curry Butternut Squash Soup (a request from my daughter and recipe coming soon), and an Apricot Grand Marnier Sausage Dressing from my very old copy of The Silver Palette Cookbook. Today, I’ll make an Sweet Onion Casserole that’s an old recipe my mom used to make and Chocolate Chess Pies. The only thing left for me to do on Thursday will be the Oyster Casserole (also from The Silver Palette)! Everyone is bringing something and this year, my son-in-law is making the Heritage Foods Turkey! This fresh turkey was delivered yesterday and I know it will be so delicious!

Today, I’m sharing another YouTube video and this is a good one! I made a Sweet Potato Casserole with Candied Bacon Spirals from a recipe I found in Better Homes and Gardens and I’m telling you…it’s the best thing ever! The bacon takes some effort, but it’s sooo worth it! My daughter is making the sweet potatoes this year and I’ve given her this recipe! The sweet potatoes are cooked in the slow cooker with chicken broth (yum) which is nice because it frees up oven space. The cooked sweet potatoes are put into a mixer with cream, butter and a little brown sugar and they are so delicious on their own, but the bacon takes them over the top! It’s really easy to do but takes a little time…I promise it’s worth it! The bacon would also be amazing on salads and even as an hors d’oeuvre on a cocktail buffet! I hope you enjoy this video! If you haven’t already, please hit the subscribe button beneath the video and you’ll get a notification when I publish a new video! I’m hoping to make at least one video per week! Please let me know if there’s anything in particular you would like to see! I’m getting ready to be in full on Holiday mode so there will be lots of fun ideas for parties and more! Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!
